Thank you

Based on Shakespeare’s Sonnet 30

In quiet reflection, I regret all left undone

Journeys and opportunities shied away from

Although I’ve never spilt many tears

I let them flow now like crystal rain

Remembering friends passed

I feel loss now as a dagger in my chest

As if each had gone only yesterday

I regret my mistakes, wrong turns, bad decisions

And though I suffered them once already,

I suffer again recalling each failure

But as I look up

And see you

Sadness leaves me

Floating upwards and out of my body

Meeting you righted all wrongs

Compensated all lack

Every precious second spent with you

Was blessed and I thank you for it.
